\nIt can be reached from the J\u00f3zsefv\u00e1ros Railway Station by train or by Vol\u00e1n bus from the N\u00e9pliget station in Budapest and by car on the M0 highway or the main road No 51.
\nAfter the expulsion of the Turks, the king gave it away to landowners as a grant.\u00a0 This place was the burial-ground for the Jeszenszky family. The Pir\u00f3th family’s castle, which was built in the 19th century, now is a protected local architectural treasure.\u00a0 In the outskirts of the village there is a protected \u2013 500 years old \u2013 wild pear tree.<\/p>\n

\nThe whole village has a system of all public utilities. There are several camping sites and accommodations in the village. In the Szabads\u00e1g (Freedom) square in front of the castle are the beautiful orthodox and catholic churches. Every year on the third weekend of June the \u201cD\u00e9legyh\u00e1za Days\u201d are held here, where non-stop events on the sporting-ground and the outdoor stage entertain tourists for two days.\u00a0 During this event, the mayor gives out some medals and awards and welcomes the newborn babies. The event is varied by sport competitions, quizzes, exhibitions, a fun-fair and some fireworks.
\nA fair is held on the 3rd weekend of September.<\/p>\n
