\nAn engineer founded a settlement to be able to water the nearby fields. The temporary name of the new village was Herminatelep and its autonomy was acknowledged in March 1, 1950. Its permanent name, Hal\u00e1sztelek, was given in June 15, 1951.
\nA few kilometres away from the Lakihegy radio tower, next to the main road is the Malonya castle, built in the 19th century. The Catholic church was built in the 1980s, according to the plans of Gy\u00f6rgy Csete.\u00a0 It has become a notable piece of the Hungarian organic architecture. There are two other newly built temples. One is the Reformed church and the other is the Greek-Orthodox church. A few meters away from the main road on the Saint L\u00e1szl\u00f3 Square, is a bronze statue of Saint L\u00e1szl\u00f3.\u00a0 In the village on \u201cL\u00e1szl\u00f3 Day\u201d, a fair is held to remember their king, Saint L\u00e1szl\u00f3. A Bulgarian minority lives in the village. The Danube bank is suitable for outings.<\/p>\n
