The building operations started in 1702 and were finished two decades later. Hildebrandt planned it and it’s the first piece of the worldly baroque architecture in Hungary. Currently can not be visited. In the small square near the castle you can find the only rural \u00c1rp\u00e1d-statue which was made for the millennium ceremony in 1897.<\/p>\n \u00c1rp\u00e1d-museum can be found in the neo-baroque M\u00fcnich-house (34 Kossuth L. street). This is the local history museum. Some specialities: a Lantos David relief from the 12th century and a Madonna painted on wood from the 16th century. Permanent exhibitions are chapters from the \u201cHistory along the Danube\u201d and the \u201cMillers and the water-mills\u201d. Opening hours: any day except Mondays, between 10am-18pm. Tel.: (24) 519-035<\/p>\n In the Keve Gallery ( 49 Kossuth L. street) temporary exhibitions can be visited. Tel.: (24) 518-650.<\/p>\n The town’s Art Gallery (26 Kossuth L. str.) accommodates the nature-lover painters and other 20th century artists from the town and its neighbourhood. On its top floor you can see L\u00e1szl\u00f3 Patay’s (1932 – 2002) exhibition which can be visited any day except Mondays, between 10am-16pm. Tel.: (24) 424-035.<\/p>\n \u00c1rp\u00e1d-bridge was built in 1896. On the city-side a small neo-baroque tollhouse is situated. One of the city’s biggest memorial places is the Serbian Orthodox church and its neighbourhood. The completion of the church was recorded in a document in 1487. The church was built in gothic style but the two side-chapels with renaissance elements were built in the early 16th century next to the nave. Its detached bell-tower includes medieval parts and was finished in 1758 and got its cross in 1795. Frescos cover the walls everywhere. The now visible paint was made in 1765 and 1771. The church can be visited from Tuesday to Saturday between 10am-12am and 14pm-17pm, Sundays between 14pm-17pm. Tel.: 06\/24-423-277.<\/p>\n In Saint J\u00e1nos square Nepomuki Saint J\u00e1nos statue from the 18th century is situated.<\/p>\n The chapel in the catholic cemetery was built in simple baroque style in the 19th century. There is a round-shaped Calvary next to it.<\/p>\n The Roman Catholic church was consecrated in the last decade of the 18th century. The interior was repainted by the famous local painter L\u00e1szl\u00f3 Patay in 1994.<\/p>\n The reformed church was built in the place of the old \u2013 smaller \u2013 baroque church.
