On the bank of the Danube a stone axe, an urn and other historical artifacts have been found. The river floods destroyed the nearby Háros and Szőlős villages, including their churches. The destroyed towns were occupied by the neighbouring towns. This is how Tököl and Szigetszentmiklós were formed by the end of the 17th century.
An engineer founded a settlement to be able to water the nearby fields. The temporary name of the new village was Herminatelep and its autonomy was acknowledged in March 1, 1950. Its permanent name, Halásztelek, was given in June 15, 1951.
A few kilometres away from the Lakihegy radio tower, next to the main road is the Malonya castle, built in the 19th century. The Catholic church was built in the 1980s, according to the plans of György Csete.  It has become a notable piece of the Hungarian organic architecture. There are two other newly built temples. One is the Reformed church and the other is the Greek-Orthodox church. A few meters away from the main road on the Saint László Square, is a bronze statue of Saint László.  In the village on “László Day”, a fair is held to remember their king, Saint László. A Bulgarian minority lives in the village. The Danube bank is suitable for outings.
