Taksony

Taksony can be found right next to the Ráckeve Danube branch. There is the Budapest-Kelebia railway near the village. The village is surrounded by Dunaharaszti, Alsónémedi, Bugyi and Dunavarsány. Its main street is the Budapest-Baja thoroughfare.

This region at the time of the Settlement of the Magyars in Hungary was the monarch’s place.  Later Chief Taksony’s owned the region and according to history he was also buried here. The first written document mentioning the village is from 1270.
Those who come here enjoy its serenity and the possibility to try out many aquatic sports. Other villages are within close travelling distances, for example, the well-known lakes at Délegyháza, the Petőfi-tree in Dömsöd or the Savoya castle and the Serbian church in Ráckeve.
